CAGW Statement on Designation of Commissioner Ajit Pai as FCC Chair

On January 23, 2017, it was announced that President Trump has designated Ajit Pai as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). 

The following statement can be attributed to CAGW President Tom Schatz upon learning of this designation:

Citizens Against Government Waste has had a productive working relationship with Commissioner Pai, and look forward to continuing to work with him and his staff as they tackle the excessive regulatory burdens imposed under Chairman Tom Wheeler.  Ajit Pai has always maintained a commonsense approach to the vital issues under the jurisdiction of the FCC, and CAGW expects that this process will continue into his tenure as chairman.

Most importantly, Chairman Pai will restore bipartisanship and a more cooperative working environment at the FCC, which will help the agency address the transformation and modernization of the telecommunications industry.
