(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named Sen. “Chucky” Schumer (D-N.Y.) its October 2026 Porker of the Month for insisting that socialist policies are welcome and should not frighten Americans.
On July 29, 2026, “Chucky” Schumer was asked if the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) platform belongs in the Democratic Party, and he alarmingly avoided the question. He also horrifyingly refused to answer whether he agreed with the DSA’s manifesto, which disturbingly demands that the U.S. abolish the Presidency, replace the Supreme Court, get rid of the Constitution, give free homes to everyone, and have the government own everything. “Chucky” Schumer sees the Democratic Party as such a big tent that when candidates backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani defeated several Democratic congressional incumbents in June, “Chucky” Schumer eerily called the results evidence of “a great united party.”
CAGW President Tom Schatz said, “Adopting the DSA’s frightening agenda would turn America into a scary socialist country. ‘Chucky’ Schumer does not care that the DSA agenda’s $49 trillion bill is hair-raising, horrifying, and horrendous and would cost each household $355,000 over the next 10 years. The DSA platform should terrify all Americans. ‘Chucky’ Schumer’s embrace of their ghastly and terrifying platform make him the clear choice for CAGW’s October 2026 Porker of the Month.”
Citizens Against Government Waste is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government. For more than two decades, Porker of the Month is a dubious honor given to lawmakers and government officials who have shown a blatant disregard for the taxpayers.
