CAGW Sends 2021 Prime Cuts to Congress

Letters to Officials

October 6, 2021

U.S. Senate/House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20510

Dear Senator/Representative,

On behalf of more than one million members and supporters of Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW), I am pleased to provide you with a link to the 2021 edition of Prime Cuts.

The fiscal status of the United States is shameful and chilling with the national debt reaching a catastrophic $28.8 trillion and expected to reach $41.2 trillion by fiscal year 2031.  During the past two years, Congress has allocated $5.7 trillion for COVID-19 “relief,” much of which was not related to the pandemic, and one trillion dollars of which has not been spent.  Additional spending of $4.5 trillion for “human infrastructure” and $1.2 trillion for “infrastructure” is currently being considered by Congress.  The only way to rein in this excessive and inefficient government spending is for elected officials to reduce waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government programs.  The 2021 Prime Cuts report is not only required reading for taxpayers, the media, and legislators, it is also a roadmap for the bold action needed to restore the fiscal sanity and help prevent a financial disaster.

If you have any questions about this report, please contact Eric Maus at emaus@cagw.org.

Sincerely,
Tom Schatz
President, CAGW
