When in the course of American history, it becomes necessary to dissolve an odious and oppressive law like the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), the causes which compel this action should be declared.

When such a long train of abuses and usurpations occur, it is the right and duty of the American people to throw off such a law and adopt new provisions.  The nation has patiently suffered for seven years under Obamacare, and it is now necessary to alter and improve the healthcare system through passage of a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare in the Senate as quickly as possible following the July 4 recess.

To prove this, the following facts are submitted:

Obamacare has increased premiums and deductibles rather than the promised reductions in healthcare costs.

Obamacare created $1.8 trillion in new healthcare spending

Obamacare created 18 separate tax increases, fees and penalties.

Obamacare caused the loss of healthcare insurance coverage for millions of Americans.

Obamacare did not permit many Americans to keep their doctors, as promised.

Obamacare has greatly reduced the number of choices for healthcare providers, rather than increasing competition.     

Obamacare exchanges have lost so many insurers that as of June 27, 2017, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, there are 49 counties with no insurance companies and 1,300 counties with only one insurance company.

Obamacare co-ops have failed, with only four of the original 23 remaining.

Obamacare enrollment has fallen far short of Congressional Budget Office projections; rather than 21 million people receiving coverage through the exchanges in 2016, the number was 10.4 million.

Therefore, as Americans celebrate the birth of a nation that declared itself free and independent on July 4, 1776, they should also be celebrating the impending demise of Obamacare and the rise of patient-centered healthcare.
