(Washington, D.C.) – Save the date! The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) will unveil its new Earmark Reform Pledge on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in 210 Cannon House Office Building.
CCAGW’s Earmark Reform Pledge moves the congressional earmark reform campaign to the next level. Signatories to the 10-point pledge will commit to a new echelon of transparency and accountability that surpasses the earmark rules contained in S. 1, “the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007,” signed into law on September 14, 2007. CCAGW will be offering the pledge to current members of the House and Senate, candidates, and incoming members of Congress who are concerned with the epidemic of congressional earmarking and pork-barrel spending.
