(Washington, D.C.) – Save the date!  The little pink book that makes politicians squirm is back.  Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) will release its 2006 Congressional Pig Book at a news conference on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.*

The Pig Book is CAGW’s signature publication, an annual report on pork-barrel spending in the federal budget.  In the past year, Washington was rocked by scandals related to earmarks and lobbying.  The timing of this year’s Pig Book coincides with earmark reform efforts in Congress.

The Pig Book features a complete database of pork projects, profiles the most egregious examples, breaks down pork per capita by state, and announces the Oinker Awards, which will be hand-delivered to members of Congress following the press conference.
