Washington D.C.) – It’s back – the little pink book that makes Washington’s pork-barrel practitioners apoplectic. Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) will release its 1999 Congressional Pig Book Summary at a news conference scheduled for Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at 2:00 p.m.
The Pig Book will profile some of the most egregious pork projects earmarked for states and congressional districts around the country. The pork-barrel is brimming in 1999 and the Pig Book will reveal the choicest items.
America’s largest taxpayer watchdog group will serve up Grade A examples of how certain members of Congress circumvent budget rules to “bring home the bacon.” CAGW will also announce its 1999 “Oinkers” award winners and – back by popular demand – porcine pals “Porky” and “R.J.” will entertain.
Food and beverages will be served at the news conference. Reporters are asked to please bring their press credentials.
