(Washington, D.C.) – Save the date! The little pink book that makes politicians squirm is back. Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) will release its 2006 Congressional Pig Book at a news conference on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.*
The Pig Book is CAGW’s signature publication, an annual report on pork-barrel spending in the federal budget. In the past year, Washington was rocked by scandals related to earmarks and lobbying. As Congress now works on earmark reform, the Pig Book couldn’t come at a better time.
The Pig Book features a complete database of pork, profiles the most egregious examples, breaks down pork per capita by state, and announces the Oinker Awards, which will be hand-delivered to members of Congress following the press conference.
