Earmark Reform Pledge Press Conference

(Washington, D.C.) – The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW), the nation’s premiere taxpayer watchdog, will hold a press conference on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 10 am to unveil its Earmark Reform Pledge. CCAGW will be joined by members of the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and representatives of several major taxpayer watchdog groups

Featured speakers will include: Sens. Tom Coburn (R-President Bill Becker and Researcher Tom Arnold of the Maine Heritage Policy Center, and David Williams, Vice President of Policy, CAGW. CAGW’s mascot, Porky, will also be in attendance.
The Maine Piglet Book combines elements of two perennial CAGW publications, the Congressional Pig Book and Prime Cuts, with the Maine Heritage Policy Center’s knowledge of the Maine state budget. The Maine Piglet Book touches on many areas in the state budget where wasteful spending can be eliminated, providing a valuable resource to legislators and concerned taxpayers.
