(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) unveiled its 2019 Pork-Barrel Madness bracket in honor of the NCAA tournament.  The bracket features 32 of the worst pork-barrel earmarks of all time.  Taxpayers will be able to vote on CAGW’s Twitter account @GovWaste.  Voting on the first-round matchups begins today.

CAGW President Tom Schatz said in a statement:

“As members of both parties clamor for the formal return of pork-barrel earmarks, taxpayers must remember the waste and corruption inherent in the favor factory known as the Washington swamp.  Pork-Barrel Madness should be another reminder that earmarks are an affront to taxpayers and they should never be reembraced by Congress.”

Citizens Against Government Waste is the nation’s largest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement in government.
