National watchdog joins Taxpayers Association of Oregon to chronicle cash-strapped state’s bloat
(Washington, D.C.) – Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) today announced the release of its Oregon Piglet Book, in conjunction with the Taxpayers Association of Oregon (TAO), Monday, Sept. 9, 2002 at 10 A.M. in the Press Room at the State Capitol in Salem.
CAGW Vice President for Policy David Williams will unveil the new publication with TAO representatives Jason Williams and Don McIntire. Also attending will be Oregon State Sen. Gary George, as well as Reps. Tom Butler, Betsy Close, Cliff Zauner, and others.
The Oregon Piglet Book combines elements of two perennial CAGW publications, the Congressional Pig Book and Prime Cuts, both published annually and dealing with federal government pork and waste. As part of its on-going examination of waste at every level of government, CAGW has chosen Oregon as the first state to launch CAGW’s state piglet books series. Also on-hand will be CAGW’s pig mascot.
CAGW has 17,756 members and supporters in the state of Oregon.
