CAGW BLASTS DASCHLE FOR CHICKEN WASTE DEFENSE

Washington, D.C. - Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) , America’s largest taxpayer watchdog group, today criticized Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) for defending chicken manure subsidies as vital to national security.
The comment came last week at a press conference when Daschle was asked about Democrats' decision to include tax credits for turning chicken waste into energy in their economic stimulus package. He defended the special interest give-aways on the grounds of national security.
"Well, poultry waste and waste of all agricultural products is something that continues to, to threaten our country," Daschle said.
