CAGW’s Pork PatrolSM takes a closer look at fiscal 2006 Senate Interior pork
(Washington, D.C.) — Families across America are packing their suitcases and getting ready for summer vacations. Just in time for those summer trips, Senate appropriators have loaded up the fiscal 2006 Interior Appropriations bill with tons of parochial projects to beautify their states and attract more tourists. Ignoring the president’s request for a lean budget, the Senate Appropriations Committee weighed down this year’s Interior bill with funding for programs slated for elimination, including X in Environmental Protection Agency grants, and X in XX. Here is a sampling of some of the pork projects the Senate appropriators deemed more necessary than a balanced budget:
