Choose a Premium
Note that the giving opportunity you have chosen to support must offer premiums for you to be able to select one.
How do you know if a campaign offers premiums?
Consult the progress bar at the top of the Options screen. Is Premium Selection a tab on the a progress bar? If the answer is yes, premiums are offered for the donation level you have chosen to contribute at, in this campaign.
You will have completed the following steps before you get to the Premium Selection stage when making a donation on this web site:
First, you will have accessed Giving Opportunities on the organization's web site.
Second, you will have picked a donation level and a payment method on the Options screen.
Third, you will have indicated if you wish to be recognized, and how you wish to be recognized for your donation.
Once you press the Next Step button on the Options screen having made all the above selections, you will review the Premium Selection screen where you can choose a premium.
To give the entire amount of your contribution to the campaign itself, and not choose a premium.
To do this, click on the No Premium button. You will be taken to the Payment Information Screen.
To Choose a Premium
To select a premium option, review the premium description and options offered on the Premium Selection Screen. Use the pull-down menu provided to make a selection.
Press Select Premium. You will be taken to the Payment Information Screen. This is where you enter credit card information (if relevant) and other billing information.
How will you know what your tax deductible amount is?
The confirmation screen that culminates the donation process will contain this information. It will provide the following information:
The tax deductible amount on your donation amount.
If you have chosen a premium, the confirmation message will include the fair market value of the premium. It will also notify you about the tax deductible amount of your donation. The Tax deductible amount will be the total amount of your contribution less the fair market value of your premium.
Once you have completed the entire transaction process and clicked on the button that takes you to the Review and Submit screen, you will be presented with a confirmation message that provides tax deductible information and other such details. The confirmation screen could serve as a receipt. You would be well advised to print it out and keep it as a record.
